Was there today and Buzz was grooming. Don't get off the trail, there is no base and a lot of snow. The problem when there, is where to go, with the Peacham issues a lot of trails aren't open and at this point in time there isn't much info on when or where or what is going to be open. We went down the rail bed from Lanesboro to the turn to Marshfield and crossed Rt2 near the cabins. Decided to head to Walden for lunch but only made it as far as Cabot as the Marshfield and Cabot trails sucked. The Cabot groomer had been out to the north from Cabot but we decided to just get gas and a quick bite in Cabot and head back to Barre. Once we got back towards E Montpelier the trails were groomed with 6" or so of fresh powder, nice riding. It is still early and not all clubs are up to speed yet, alot of snow to deal with all at once with no base. Barre's trails are mint, I would head in that direction.

BTW there are a lot of turkeys and deer on the trails, It might be a long winter for them.

The RAILROAD bed was great as usual, the other smaller trails sucked. The area is all screwed up from trai closures, and terrible signage. This place use to be our favorite spot, man how times have changed. Thinking of trying out the BARRE area. website says they only have 59 miles of trails. What other area clubs abutt their area? Thanx

Chris, just got back from Derby last night and everything east to Canaan and south to Burke was fast and flat!! Norton,Canaan area had no water bars at all, South areas like Barton and West Burke had some minor water spots. Tons of snow right now hopefully they dont get much rain out of this. Trails were awesome!!! On 105 in Canaan we jumped 2 HUGE moose!! Must have had 8'-10' Rack!!

Just did over 500 miles. Groton to Berlin, groton to east Burk, groton to P&h truck stop and then groton up to morrisville down thru or around stowe down thru waitsfield then headed to washington then thru northwoods and back to groton. Trails consisted of the good, the bad, and the ugly and then of course the closed trails that you don't find out their closed until your way into it already and have to turn around. The many trails in Stowe with very poor signage and paved road ridding for miles. Stowe has nice trails but I think maybe the tree hugging granolla munchers remove the signs while they are cross country skiing. I just think they don't need our money or our kind around there so i will not go that way ever again. I had a blast and it is always worth the price of the TMA's. If I don't go out again for the rest of the season I feel I already got my money's worth. But I will be out again on wednesday with the wife and kids this time.
