I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO TAKE THE POWER VALVES COMPLETELY OUT OF THE CYLINDERS. I GOT THE COVERS OFF AND THE STAR BOLTS INSIDE. IM NOT SURE WHAT THEY DID BUT IT LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE HOLDING ON A COVER THAT KEPT THE VALVE IN. I HAVE A PARTS DISCRIPTION SHEET AND IT'S NOT WORKING. I NEED TO KNOW BY LIKE....TONIGHT

Those star bolt you took out hold a plate down on to the cylinders. If you took the bolts out pull the plate back and the valves will slide out. They may be stuck, depending when the last cleaning was. If they're stuck in spray a little WD-40 to loosen up the carbon, take the powervalve cables off and pull them out with some vise grips

okay, i took them all apart. cleaned them the best i could. and i scraped off a thick coat of carbon at the end of the valve. now the sled only hits about 7300-7500 top rpm. before it would hit 8300ish. what did i do wrong? or do they just need to be adjusted closer to the piston because of all the shit i took off from th ends?

600 motor is from 32.1 mm to 34.1 mm. I just cleaned mine but have not had a chance to test it yet. I had to put a new cable on and set mine to just under 33mm. Pretty simple job once you do it a couple of times. Make sure you have your cables hooked up correctly as that could be causing your rpm problems.

measure between the outer case of the cable to the inside of the metal end of the cable itself. This will give you how much cable you would be able to pull up on. Hope you understand what I am trying to say. here,

how do u adjust them on an 800? We are trying to adjust them, but it feels like the sled is blown up. Compression is 125 in each cylinder.. Not sure what to do here.

clutches are fine springs aren't broke. haven't adjusted or checked my powervalves yet. could it possibly be my rings causing compression to decrease??? just a thought.6,3xx miles -motor untouched. not looking forward to taking off the cylinders in the middle of winter but i would have to get it done.
