600ho with crankshop twins, 380 main jets, needle clip 3, running airbox and intake

Let me try to explain this. When I am riding and come to a dead stop, then a buddy pulls up and i hammer the gas, it revs to 7500-7600 and stutters for a few seconds, and then revs to about 8000. same thing if i am going at a slow roll, but if i am riding on the trail and on and off the throttle, it doesn't do this. or if i am going WOT, come to a stop, then hammer down again it just revs right to 8000 fast and doesnt have that stutter.

i also noticed when i am riding about 3/4 throttle and lower, that the sled doesnt have the crisp sound like it should at higher RPMs, has the crackling and popping sound like when you first start out moving on twin pipes or give it any gas. i am assuming i am rich in midrange and the fuel is not being fully burnt, because when i give it more gas, the sled just sings and hums and moves along at 3/4 throttle and higher. should i drop it a half clip?

and for the stutter i was talking about in the first part of this post, i am thinking either there is some fuel build-up from too rich of needle causing the stutter, or else the pipes need to be hotter all the time in which i believe i would need leaner jetting? correct me if i am wrong....

and i think i should be pulling more RPM up top also, i have almond red primary, 59.5g weights, 66/44/.46 helix and stock 440 black spring

went from needle clip 3 to 2.5 and got alot better. would like to go to 2, but dont wanna burn it down, but on my bros 06 switchback with slp single, he is running it in clip 2 per SLPs recomendations and said his needle was in clip 2 from stock. is this correct that #2 was stock clip position and should i be safe there with twins?
