I dont understand why people think they are so annoying. At 10PM they ride by you, but you only hear them for like... 10 seconds?? I think F&G should pay the stocker pipe price.

In your house you cant hear the echo without having your windows and doors open. The trail is up behind my house, not that far and i cant hear them when im outside, inside my house i cant hear a damn thing. I love the sound of em!

Thats great. I heard the next thing to be banned is C&A pro skis. People have complained that they leave to deep of a keel mark in the snow and people are getting caught in the grooves. As soon as that ban passes they are putting a limit on how big of a track you can run on a trail sled. The bigger lug tracks are chewing the trails up to quickly.

I got a MBRP, C&A pro skis and a 1/14" track. Thats gunna be over a grand to change.

Those signs won't do any good, most of them don't even understand the English language. They will just think it's a "No Littering" sign.

I like the sound of them too but i can hear them all night long on the weekend out at the airstrip, it does get annoying.

Reason being why I went with the SLP for my sled. Not much louder than the stockie just went for the weight. Plain and simple, Fish and Game should brush up on their knowledge about the machines and if they are going to put a restriction on lugs and ski's, it should be modifications only.....not if they came stock.

i can almost understand the mbrps, sno stuffs and other cheap junk that is made to just create noise. they are usless and in some cases acutally make your sled lose power. but there are many quilty systems out there that improve performance and dont ad much volume over stock. if this is such a problem, give the fish cops a decible meter and go off that. regualting modified exhaust is rediculous.

I think the skis and lugs,,,are a joke.I love pipes but I wont run them. To much Bullshit,,,,If the people that own the land dont like them then maybe we shouldnt use them.....

Skis and Lugs was definatly a joke. This topic has been covered over and over and butchered by all who have input. If people showed some respect and didnt run obnoxious cans we would be fine. All this is doing now is giving the F&G something to do this year. Next year something else is going to be illegal. We have opened up a can of worms we will never be able to close. Like riding in certain states (NH) isnt tough enough already. Speed limits during the day, now speed limits on the lakes at night, this whole "can" law, its illegal to skim water. Honestly what will be next? I know there are quite a few companys that sell pipes that match up to a stock silencer. Are they gonna tell you you cant run an aftermarket pipe because of the ping sound it gives off. Even though the exhaust note coming out of the can is no louder?? 5 years down the road when snowmobile laws are so strict that its not even enjoyable anymore we are gona look back and realize that we shouldnt have given the F&G all the support that they wanted with these issues. The establishments in the north country surely are not complaining about noise. They are making their living off of us snowmobilers. Notice it cost more to go to pittsburg in the winter than ti does the summer. Im running the quietest set up I could find for my sleds because I bought them with modified exhaust in the first place. I dont have the money to spend almost $500 on a stock ski doo can. I will be checking all of my sleds with a decibel meter to see exactly how much louder than stock they are.

Those signs look like there made of metal?
I could use a couple of them to do some body work on my truck. If they were made in Canada i'm sure there real strong!

The trouble will aftermarket cans is that the increase in db and the change in frequency makes the sound travel further. Anyone who has sat on the side of a trail will tell you that you can't hear most stock sleds until you see them....... Most of the trails are across private land....if the land owner wants em stock I say we keep them that way....land owners first...that way the trails stay open...

And I can't speak for other models but....a can on an srx is going to slow it down..... jon600ho (i think that is is log in) had a 99 and a 2000 srx...making runs on turkey pond back to back the can was slower..

oh.....want to talk pollution....look up coal mine fires....scary stuff....my 2 stroke srx should be on the cover of green peace when you compare it with how much pollution coil mine fires vomit into the atmostphere. Penn. has had one burning for like 40 years! But ask a greeny and my suburban ,sleds and boat are the souce of all the pollution....ohhh ...ok! I say eat me!
