This a-arm design will not hold up to normal 35 MPH putsing much less real riding.
My friends RTX did the same thing at 5 MPH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yamaha will not even acknowledge a problem.
I heard even Allen Ulmer's personal sled did the same.
$800 in parts, my labor and 2 weeks down time because this a-arm design is a JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ummmm, don't hit things?!?!? At 35 MPH there is a lot of force to stop or redirect. You are going to bend something. Not to brand bash, but I dare you to try the same thing with the new XP.

He posted this is the hardcore forum too...sounds like he's complaining about hitting something that would hurt any sled.

had to have hit something, no way you can just bend something like that by going 35. What did you hit? a big stump?

this is one of the biggest resons that i didnt buy an new xtx! the front of the nytro is a big joke! this year i have looked at all brands! since all hade atlest one model i liked!
and nytros ar the only one that ar bending the fronts! donīt you people get it!? itīs WEAK!!! the sled is not supose to crumble even if you touch something whit the skis! the things i have hit whit my crossfire! and itīs straigt! yammiguys complain about the xpīs beeing to light and weak. but i can guarante you that ther ar more bent nytros then xpīs out ther!
okey that some of you still have straigt sleds. fine! perhaps not every sled has the problem but MANY OF THEM AR!
if everybody hade bent them then perhaps yamaha whoud deal whit the problem!
untill they do that i keep my hands away from the nytros!
i know six people that have nytros. tre of them have bent subframes two of them have a bent skid... now, is this just a coincidence? well, maybe it is... yamaha think it is. i DONīT!

we didn't let stories like these stop us from bringing in an XTX to test this winter. You can bet if anyone can twist one of these up into pretzel we can as we'll be taking it to the limits as soon as snow fly's
we'll keep you posted on our findings!

As manufacturer's work to meet market demands for lighter and lighter sleds (which is a whole other discussion) the reduction in weight has to come from somewhere. Ultimately, there will be a reduction in structural integrity at some point. I have seen the same thing happen on multiple XP's at both slow and high speed. It is the nature of the beast not the brand. Nonetheless it does make it less frustrating. I hope you are okay and enjoy your kick ass sled this winter.

I have not seen or heard of one Nytro having this problem. We have several yammi dealers around here and have asked them when I first heard of this. My main one is really good, he wouldnt steer me wrong just for a sale. He was straight up honest with some of the Apex issues..... but again. I have only heard of this happening one time, the story changed each time I seen ti posted on a different message board.

Its kind of funny how everyone who breaks an a-arm or cracks the bulkhead on their Nytro always has the same story: "I was just riding along and all of the sudden..."
What they dont tell you is that they hit a rock or a stump or they landed all crossed-up. If the Nytro is strong enough to hold up to the abuse of snocross, I think it can handle anything that the average weekend snowmobiler can dish out.

I recall some people on there complaining about this issue last winter, but they are also the same people whose story was always, "I was just riding along and all of the sudden...".
Now, I definetly dont consider myself to be a Nytro expert (seeing as how I dont own one), but I do try to stay up to date with Yamaha's new stuff.
From what Ive been told, the number of Nytros that had a-arm and bulkhead issues is very small, so that would imply that its more operator abuse than a design flaw.
Like I said, if Yamaha's snocross racers arent breaking these sleds all the time, unless you hit a rock or a stump or land all crossed-up, the average weekend snowmobiler isnt going to have issues.
You know how this site is though, you have a lot of Japan haters who like to rip on Yamaha every chance they get.

Yeah, or their Suzuki-powered Arctic Cats and Canadian Doos. I wont get into the discussion of how many Chinese components and on the newer Polaris sleds...

Many people Arctic Cats, Poo's, Doo's and Yamahas have bent the old trailing arm chasis by idling over railway tracks and hooking carbides on the rails. They are designed for up and down force not straight on impact.
