I went 62 miles and used 38 liters (10 gal U.S.) of fuel which is about 6 mpg U.S.
I have a 2000 T-Cat with an 01 motor and electronics which I put on 11,000 miles and regularly got 10-12 mpg with both the 2000 electronics and the 2001 electronics. The mileage was great as long as it was -5C or colder. It has stock jetting and carb settings, Vforce3, 2 degree timing key, BM clutching, heavilly studded 3/4" camoplast racing track and that was about it.
On my 02 everything is stock. I cleaned the carbs and all carb specs are stock, I didn't check the needles or clip position though. the clutching is soft which I will be changing and was slightly overrevving at 8900 on the Cat tach. I believe the electronics are the same as the 01 and I will be adding a key. Vforce reeds are on their way.
What could cause such a drastic difference in fuel mileage? Is there any change in the air box? I know the reverse would account for a little but it can't be that much. The clutching will help a little. I will be checking the plugs and crowns today, maybe compression.
If anybody has any ideas i'm not thinking of that would be great!
