What rpm should my clutch kick in on a bone stock 01 zr 800?
stronger800
they had 66 gram weights and a purple spring engaging at 3600 give or take a 100.
duckman_04290
Eeeeekkk... Im kicking in at 4500 give or take 100!
stronger800
if your clutch is indeed stock, then your weight bushings are shot and chewing into the spider.... pretty common, no biggie

Whoa has, that means mines really bad.

It engages at 4800-4900

What do i need to0 replace? Is it hard? What am i wrecking leaving it?

If yours is a 600 it's about right.
Suggestion..............

-remove both primary / secondary clutches
-dismantle (pay attention to alignment marks or scribe one for clutch halves)
-clean and inspect for worn / damage parts paying special attention to worn bushings / cracks in halves / seized rollers
-replace parts as required / if both springs are a few years old or have more than 3 to 4K on em replace regardless of how they look
-install clutches / check c to c measurement and align / set deflection to the snug side of spec
-on the 800cc sled, buy / install a SnoTek or similar torque arm.....best money you'll ever spend.
-change your chain case oil and confirm chain adjustment
-check track alignment / set to loose side of spec at 10lb instead of 20
ENJOY

you do realize they are talking about an 800 not a 600

yours should be in the 4500range
