What is the best way to install new ski rubbers without going completely insane??

I have installed a complete Xtra 12 IFS from a 97 XLT SP in place of the IFS on my 1994 XLT. Now the right side tie rod is rubbing on the bulkhead when I turn right. What is the best way to fix this problem? I thought maybe to put a slight bend in the tie rod.....I have to re align it anyway.
