Ok, 1st time poster here. Hi all!
Looking at an 87 Exciter 570, friend of mine, pretty much everything's been gone through except the front shocks. Looks good, seat is good, decals, paint, run's perfect, starts great, new track, rings, seals, skid bearings, etc., etc.
He's asking $800 which seems like an okay price, but still it's an '87
Are there any issues I should know about on these? Problem areas?
Price in line for condition?
Also, can something be done about the 121" x 1" track? Can I go to a 136 and a deeper lug, say 1.5 or 1.75? If so, what has to be done to accomplish this. I see some posts here about extra 10, extra 12, but don't understand what that is.
Thanks in advance for the advice.

Front shocks?? Telescopic struts.
Not much room for a deeper lug track. $800 is $600 more than it's worth, I just sold a 2001 XC 500 for $600.

Okay, I was thinking of a $600 offer, but being a friend I didn't want to cheap out on him. May go $700, but then it's bickering over a 100 bucks
Any other suggs on where to find a decent sled, mid 90's or later, nice shape, for about $800 or so? Prefer 136 & deeper lugs as I'd like to take it the Snowy Range/Black Hills.

if you go to the smaller 8lug drive cogs you should be able to fit a bigger track, i don't know about 1.5 but 1.25 unstudded shoudl be fine. by my measurements i should be able to fit a studded 1" lug track with the smaller cogs. they are almost an inch in diamater smaller than stock.
