First things first - I am NOT trying to start a war here. If you are one of those exceptionally emotional Ski-doo XP guys with a fragile ego, either stop reading right now, or at least refrain from flaming me. This is merely second hand info that I would like to confirm. For the record, I am a Polaris guy and was never a big fan of the original REV but I really like the look of the new XP's.

I heard from my Kimpex rep that the new XP's have about 8 updates as of right now, one of which is replacing the fuel tank. I find that especially interesting as Polaris is also in the midst of a huge fuel tank issue. Possibly they use the same supplier for gas tanks? Also wondering what the other recalls are, if any? He was pretty vague ie: he didn't really know, but he did mention drilling or riveting something. Any 'Doo guru's out there care to shed some light on the subject?

Picked up the gade a while ago, built on 9/07, no recalls on the sled. Nothing was done at the dealer, no recalls as of today Saturday, December 15, 2007. If you read some of the older posts, here and other sites, you'd think that they are being rebuilt at the dealers! The tank issues I had was on an 01, that the oil tank split and my friends polaris just had the same problem. The canucks highway and road use, or something else, does have a thing about the old tank testing and a failure

No recalls on mine to do except handwarmers, must have been fixed before shipped.

There are two known Recalls(safety issues) as of 12/15, some have bad fuel tanks(rumor is there were two tank manufacturers, one used a bad batch of plastic), the other is with the routing of the throttle cable, it needed to be adjusted to stop if from sticking. Look them up here, http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/recalls/search4_e.asp

The other issues, that I've heard of, are Updates/Technical Service Bulletins, chaincase vent, chaincase adjustment bolt oil leak, hand warmers burning out...

I picked mine up from the dealer in the middle of Nov. All the Recall/Updates were done from the factory. I'm still not sure about my hand warmers.

Most of the recalls are related to the earlier build units (lucky me I got one) and most of them are X or TNT models this is the list of stuff I needed to have done.

Gas tank replacement only a bad batch (Still waiting been waiting since sept. for a tank off backorder)
Throttle cable check
Chaincase vent relocated and rubber seal/washer added to adjuster bolt
Spare belt holder had a velcro strap added to hold belt on
Handwarmers ON X and TNT Aluminum bars have been recalled due to failure from overheating (still waiting on that also, but was told a different fix from the first fix is in the works)

Other than that 500 miles of pounding and still going strong.

Also the gas tanks are a shitty supplier Cat Doo Polaris and Kawasaki have had recalls off and on since 03 from this same place think they'd look for a new supplier.

Nuff said here.
I like the "stop posting and go ride" statement too.

O yea there are a few F 1000 guys that are not real happy with the XP either.
1 chain case vent recall done on 1 of the 2 Xp s we own other than that they run great.

Yeah, but think of how much money that they saved using that supplier. Haha. Dumb asses. You'd think that they would learn after the first time. Obviously not.
