Does anyone know of the Indiana law about titles for snowmobiles?? I believe older sleds did not have one?? Correct?? I have a 1993 sled and I can not find the title. It was registered in Indiana.
I have been searching for info on titles and stuff thru In.gov but nothing so far...

I don,t believe a title is required in indiana,a bill of sale should be all thats needed. Somebody else might chime in and clear this up,but i,ve sold several sleds over the years with just a receipt. Good luck

I sold 7 sleds in the past 6 years with just a bill of sale. That's all you need.

As far as I know there is no real title for snowmobiles. I have always been told that they are like dirt bikes and atv's. The only thing available is a certificate of origin but indiana doesn't require it for registration. Although I have heard there are some states that do require them.

We were informed at the fall DNR meeting that the ISA is finally starting to take steps in making it possible to register our sleds at the BMV. That way we can eliminate that stupid property tax.
