Hi, not sure how much sled insurance is nor do i want to pay for it. Where are some trails in the poconos or lehigh i don't have to worry about it?
Trail_Time
I think that liability insurance is required on any trails in PA. The exception may be private property you have permission to ride on. You should be able to get the minimum liability for a nominal price.

I have full coverage on my 07 Rev but liability would have been lees than $20./year

Liability for a 04 Sabercat = $35.00
Liability for a 03 F7 = $35.00 a year.
Knowing that your covered when you do something stupid = Priceless.
Getting a $300.00 fine for not having liability insurance = Dumb

hey dvarmit i have my '97 vmax 600 inc with liability for $55.00 per year thru my home owners.
who do you have your inc. thru at that rate? sounds like i'm paying to much.
thanks tuggster39

You have to consider it part of the cost of snowmobiling - if you can't afford the 30-60 bucks - then consider riding on your own land as the alternative. Think of the costs if someone sues you because your sled hits somebody head on and they deem it your fault ?
I think the few bucks for liability is a no-brainer here.
Don't be penny-wise and Pound-Foolish.
You don't need the collision and comprehensive but at least buy the liability for EVERYONES sake.

I use nationwide and we have these on their own policies. I also have my home owners and auto through them so maybe they are giving me a discount somewhere along the line. I just upgraded the policy to full coverage for and additional $90.00 per sled for a year so I am paying right around $250.00 for full coverage on both sleds combined.

I will say, from what I have seen, $35.00 for liability is one of the lowest I have seen here in the boards. Nationwide has always taken care of us. Your rate of $55.00 is a pretty good rate to considering some of the other rates I have seen.

thanks dvermit. i have my insurance thru my home owners then they shop around for the best
coverage and it's thru american modern home insurance company if anybody is looking for

hope we get some snow soon up in potter co. they have about a 10" to12".

Yea liability for my zr900 is $55/year. The actual policy is valued at 30-some bucks but the company wont stroke the pen for that, they have a $55.00 minimum. Erie Insurance who covers my other stuff quoted me some outrageous price..in the hundreds. Per my agent they dont want to be botherd so they priced themselves way high.!

Costs 65 bucks to ride anyplace in PA. Sort of sucks that a trip to NY between gas and resistration will cost ya 4x that amount. For 100.00 they should have warming huts w/table dancers along the way.!

Don't forget that some towns crack you $50.00 for the privilege of running their roads and spending money at their hotels, restaurants, bars, shops and gas stations. That bitch becomes president I am moving to Canada. Sorry couldn't help it.. Nothing against our fellow NY sledders..
BeamerCat
Yea not to start a political war or prejudiced debate, basically put I think its a sad time to be a Democrat.
"the bitch" and "the obama" are the best two out there.? Thats a double wtf.gif

I'm hoping come election day one or the other is conceiding about 3 hours before the polls close. I can start celebrating early. flag_usa.gif
