What do I need to ride in Ohio. I'm registered in NY and NJ do I need to register in Ohio too? Do I need a trail pass? If so what do they cost?

You need to register in Ohio although enforcement is light. There is no trail permit as there really aren't trails in the true sense of the word. If you are just visiting friends and riding farm land I wouldn't worry. If you want to register, go to the BMV here and show proof of ownership and pay around $10 for 3 years.

Thanks for the heads up.

I have a friend that will be moving there soon and we were trying to find information for the area. I've heard that you can't ride some areas if you have studs. Are any maps of the public trails available? Are they just seasonal roads?

Hey Jeff,
There are no trail systems left in Ohio. Some people ride around Geauga County, Lake County and Ashtabula County and the trails are nothing to brag about but it is still riding I guess !
