Hey fellow HCS'ers i have a question for you guys. I own a '95 RXL650 Triple with a triple 38mm carb kit. The previous owner told me that he liked the carb kit better because he had EFI problems with the original unit. The kit was professionally put together and nothing is rigged up. I just broke a piston skirt on it, no interal damage. It had 130PSI on all cylinders even after the break and no cylinder, head or intake damage occured. Just all the pieces blew on the exhaust or into the intake when it backfired . So i just replaced the center piston, with a new set of rings and gaskets. I also cleaned out all the little pieces of metal but most of it blew out the exhaust when it was running. When the piston skirt was in the process of breaking the sled bogged horribly of the line and would barely take off but once it hit 6000 rpms it would take off like a raped ape. It also would no longer idle. I just rebuilt it and got it all back together and now i'm stumped. I ran it with the fuel valve off (on accident didn't remember to flip it back on) and the sled ran great. Now once i flipped it on it started to have a low end bog and stopped idling. I'm thinking its flooding itself out and needs to be ridden harder to get cleared out but i don't want to be hard on the motor during the first break in stages. What are your opinions?????
Here is a video of it when i first got it.
