I am looking for a cabin/cottage to rent Jan. 23-25 in the Eastern/Central UP. We have 3 couples in our group and are all responsible adults. We'd like to find a place where we could all hang out together instead of having seperate rooms and also a place that has a kitchen so we could make breakfast and dinner before and after riding. Haven't been able to find anything that's that isn't a long way from the bridge.

If you want to stay pretty close to the bridge go to www.brevortlakecottages.com I rent from them all winter and you will not find a nicer or more furnished place than theirs. It will have everyting you need and is right on the lake and very easy to get to the trail. give Wendy a call and she will hook you up. you won't be disappointed I promise. Oh I forgot look at the Gray wolf cottage as I rent the Eagles nest. Its only about 15 minutes from the bridge andf the trails around there are some of the smoothest around.

How about cabin #4 at Feigels Resort in Curtis? Right on the lake, easy access to trail and gas if you use the lakes. Nice folks.

Thanks for the info. Curtis is a great location, but everytime I have been through there the trails are a wreck? I'd like to find a place a little more to the east.

How about the Les Cheneaux area (Cedarville and Hessel). Try this link, they have a house which may be what you are looking for. The trail head is about 1/2 mile from the motel and house.

Never been that far east, how's the riding in Cedarville? Do they get much snow in that area? Looks like a nice place.

Try White Fawn Lodge in Wetmore.

I've always had a great stay, they have a bunch of different sized cabins, each with a living room/kitchen/dining area/bath. The "resort" also has a grocery store/gas station, and only a couple miles to groomed trails.

Try White Fawn Lodge in Wetmore. Just southeast of Munising.

Admittedly, the trails right around the Cedarville/Hessel area are tight and twisty, but it doesn't take too long to get to trails that are nice and wide.

While I still haven't been able to ride yet this year, I have heard many reports from credible people who are telling me that the trails are actually in quite good shape right now. Hope this keeps up, could be one of the better seasons in a few years.

JJKGuru and company stayed at the house rental a couple of years ago, maybe you could send him a pm and ask him what he thought of it, too.

If you do come up this way, don't be afraid to get ahold of me, I'll gladly give you a tour of the area.

You can check out the Soo Grade Lodge in Brimley... Very nice....right on the trail...You would only be 1 hour from Mackinac Bridge and 1/2 hour from Sault Ste. Marie.

We've done the White Fawn before, and loved it. Except for the fact they didn't groom around there when we were there. We were looking for something closer, that is kind of a haul to drive after work.
Do the Cedarville trails hold up well, sometimes the tight twisty trails are the first to go bad.
