Looking at either one of them. I have several lenses for my Rebel 2000. I didn't think there was much improvements from the XT to the XTI as i was looking at them. 8MP vs 10MP is not a big deal to me. Anybody have any opinions either way?

I'm not sure if you have made your decision or not and I have never used a Rebel XT, but I have an XTi and could not be happier. I am very new to photography and the XTi is very easy to understand and use. Here are some pics I took with mine...
EDIT --- I'm not sure why I can't post pics but here are the links

We went with the XT over the XTI. Saved about a 100+ dollars and so far the camera is awesome. It operates 99% like my older rebel 2000. Really fast and from what I was told by the camera salesman the SLR's have an image writer 3 times the size of a pocket point and shoot camera so if you compared an 8MP picture from each the SLR will have a lot better image. When I put my 75-300 zoom lense on it I can take clear pics up to about 100 yards away without a rest! Friggen awesome!

Get the XTi, it has a bigger screen to view your pics. The difference between my D70 and D200 is amazing.
Good luck

We just bought an XTi today as our couples gift for christmas. We always shop for each other and then get a gift together. This year a new camera is it. To go from a 7 year old Sony Cybershot 1.8mp to a XTi is amazing. I don't even know how to use it so I just turned the power on and took a few pics on auto. It is amazing. I can't wait to get some time behind it.
