I have the SLP can on my '06 Switchback 600 HO. It's supposed to add 2-3 HP and lose a few pounds. It's barely louder than stock...without looking under the hood, you'd probably never guess it was there.

SLP will be better for performance and the sport. MBRP will only lose weight, make too much noise, and i have heard of them robbing power.

i have an mbrp trail can i have not lost any power but have heard rumours slp is slightly louder than stock and sounds different from other cans out there, more unique i guess you could say. it still sounds nice, both sound nice, both cans at idle sound stock until you gas it then you can tell. dont expect to feel any power increase from a can, and power loss isnt that common and can be fixed. heres a link for the slp can its the second one in the vid.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGlPHP9WTB8&feature=related

Thanks for your help

Do you have that MBRP on your 08. If so are your happy with it. I have one on my 04 600 and love it. I would like to put one on my 08 but not sure with the CFI if it's worth it.
Thanks,

yeah its on 08, im happy with it for the most part. it sounds ok i guess. im just getting sick of every sled with a can having the same sound, im looking for a nice pipe and can combo right now. with the can it didnt lose any grunt if thats what your wondering. it sounds best when blurbing the throttle around 5-6000rpm in my opinion or wide open.

Great,
I'll consider it. Thanks for the input.

Neither, doesn't matter what brand, both will cost you a couple lengths. Loud sled, less power... quiet sled, more power...your choice I guess.

Stock is nice, but SLP is better, I had a MBRP and it broke on a 2002 Renegade, the build on a SLP is stronger in my opinion thumbsup.png

I have both SLP and MBRP (standard version) for my 900 Switch. After some testing I decided to stick with the MBRP.
The SLP doesn't sound much different from stock... if quiet is what you want, it will be your choice. The MBRP is obviously lighter and louder. I don't believe installing a can will gain or lose you any power on a 2stroke.
Because I have a FNI intake setup, intake noise drowns out the SLP can almost completely and I felt disconnected from my engine not being able to "hear" the engine rpm. My SLP is for sale if anyone wants to give it a new home.

Hey Disco Dan, How much do you want for the SLP can?

Especially after all of the trails are closed and no one can ride, due to those loud pipes. As was mentioned in a previous post, "SLP will be better for performance and the sport.". That should make the decision a pretty simple one.
