Vermont opens Sunday, we can starting grooming Friday. A good foot of snow on the ground but streams aren't yet frozen. How is everyone else doing?

can only speak for moosehead lake area in maine. we have 18" on ground and have started getting trails pressed in but riding is still limited due to warm ground and some open streams. one more storm (maybe sunday and we will be in midwinter conditions.)

have heard that aroostock county (northern maine) has much more snow and trails are being groomed flat and they are riding.

Most of upper Michigan has decent snow on the ground...anywhere between 16-30 inches from what I understand. Our trails are open and I will be going up on the 19th to take my first ride of the year! I cant remember the last time we have had snow this good before Christmas. I will let you know how they are. Hopefully Santa brought an early gift xmas-smiley1.gif

In the Buckfield area, we just started grooming last night. We are going out mostly everynight getting the trails in shape. Still some open water spots, but they are freezing over well. just be happy with what we have this year compared to last year. WE didn't get grooming till mid feb.

have fun

Northern Vermont has snow but it's been slow to get trails open. We have over 18" of snow but with blowing winds it's been hard to get them packed to start dragging. By this weekend, trails should be in good shape though. We haven't had a winter that started this early for years.

snow cat went out last night without drag, only about 10" in champlain valley (west central vermont) some plowed ground, rrroouugghh rrride ... need more snow for sure. plan on going later this week with drag.

I groomed our clubs trail here in Northern Mn last week to get a smooth base for more snow to land on.. pretty slim in most areas but ridable non the less

Here in NW Wisconsin we were starting to groom. (Brule to Superior and Brule to St Croix Lake, almost Solon Springs) Had everything open.............with one creek problem.........
And then Old Man Winter puked on us with warm weather and we lost lot of our base. Flush.gif cussing.gif
Now we're sitting here waiting to see if we get the snow they're predicting................ smoke.gif

We started to roll Dec. 11, way ahead of our normal start date of early Jan. This is west of Ottawa, Ontario.

Then had a leaking plastic gas tank that cost us a week of down time.

Still lots of wet holes and swamps to avoid, but the dry trails have an amazing base.
