I went out on a 30 mile ride today (all I had time for) to look at our trails. All and all, they are good considering that there is not much snow in the NE part of the state.

Southern Oconto was ok - Some good some bad

Lots of hay fields and farmers fields that need more snow - They are not panning or grooming yet - Actually came across some logging going on - Havnt seen that on the trails down here

In the woods were pretty decent - Need to get farther north in Oconto county - At least its staying cold , so hopefully we can hang on to the base that is started

bee, where were you riding? our trails are 100% groomed (except the swaps that are still too soft to support the drag)

We are south of 64 and White Potato Lake to Suring and Kelly Lake.

Out trails were nice and firm as we have been grooming for a while now but we still can use some more snow on them.

If we can prevent out base from getting trashed I think we will be golden with about another 6-8 inches.

We will be making a 100+ mile run this Sat so I will get a better look at the rest of our system.

Ok,

We did a little bigger trip this Sat to look at the trails and fix some last minute things as needed.

First off, I would like to say that our trails are fair and some areas are good.

We have a great base if we can keep the traffic on them to keep from trashing the base, we will be good to go with 6 more inches.

There are some soft spots in the swamps, as we found out sinking to our knees trying to remove some downed cedars.

Again, our trails are groomed to the extent we can (some of the swaps are just too soft to support the groomer. We did ride back and forth through the swamps with the sleds to firm them up. The more traffic we get in the swamps the better.

Anyone who rode our trails in the past know that the pipeline road trail was pretty rough in early season. That is no longer the case! Our groomer owner bought a grader for his tractor, and did some work out there and now it is just AWESOME!!! Thanks Mark!

If you do go riding on our trails, please respect the base we have. If you are spinning the track coming out of every turn you will ruin the base and we will be behind the eight ball when there is new snow. Please ride with everyone's enjoyment in mind and do not trash the system.

oconto county trails are poor as of now. We need more snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to Iron River Mi. in the morning, lots of snow a hour away!!!!!!!!!!!!!

f-7 you are so right. i was supposed to make the trip to the up last weekend and never made it out of townsend. i did get to ride on saturday night and all day sunday & monday. the trails are real rough. need a lot of snow.

I am sure these warm temps have taken there toll (Havnt been out since last Friday the 14th) - Saving grace hopefully will bee the new snow on Sunday - Also supposed to get cold again - Maybe things can set up again over Christmas while traffic is low early in the week - Then of couse things will get really busy after Christmas - There talking snow chances all next week , and if the cold can stick around

Would bee nice to stick to the trails locally this year - Really sick of trailering to the U.P. every weekend like the last few winters

We probably got about 2"-3" in southern oconto county by my house - Problem is the wind - At the airport in green bay (Worked yesterday 18 hours) the snow was sideways all day long
46 degrees at 5 am and rain - To feel that cold front come through at the airport was something WOW

So hard to give an estimate - At least its white out for Christmas - But it looks like things will have to start all over again - Looks like a snow pattern in the next week - Hopefully things will add up

I wont bee riding again until New years day/that week hopefully - Let hell week take its course and then i will bee heading north somewere around New years day

I live in Lakewood and I am 20 feet from the trail.I have one word for you! Thrashed!!! We had sno x up here in Lakewood today. The trails are in desperate need of snow! The races continue tomorrow and with the long weekend you're gonna need a wheel kit !!!lol Lots of people poundin the trails and not enuff snow is never a good combo, I'll bet there will be a lot of parts made this weekend.Hopefully it won't be any of you makin them! We need snow!!!!

Yup, and I love the Heros that have to spin their tracks in the corners! There isn't that much snow and they are in pretty good shape for what they have here and we got to follow the groomer this morning that trail was great. Now just riding the lakes with the kids and hoping for more snow.

Had to fix the Z120 I guess I made the jump to high! He broke the shock! Good thing I had extras since I heard the 05 shocks are cheap.

I went to Flynn's BP this morning at 7:30 for coffee. I didn't like what I saw. Just for kicks I ran to the ski hill bar and even the woods was a little ruff bare corners and grassy straights. I did see the groomer pass the house at 9:00 and I snapped a pic to proove it, lol. I just went out and snapped another couple pics. It is only a couple hrs after the groomer came back through. As we all know you can't groom no snow. On the other hand check the ditch pics! I know were i'll be the next few days! Off Trail!!! Stay out of the pickers boys!

One of the members of te club I am a member of said that the bagley/brazeau area is good as of yesterday.

We dont get as much traffic as the lakewood trails do, so that is all I know about that.

I know we need more snow up there.

Not to bad in the woods and railroad has some stones but not to bad. Just don't bring new carbides. Better come early since they are calling for a warm up on Saturday. And hopefully a little snow later this week. But some rough where they have not groomed at all yet. Kind of bummer because where they did groom not to bad considering the lack of snow.

How are the trails looking in the Rhinelander area?

I just got back from a little run, gotta love t shirt rideing. The trails actually are better this weekend than last. The warmer temp has softened th hard pack and they are a joy to ride. Too bad tomorrow will most likely be the end for a bit. It always seems to happen the trails just get rideable. Then it warms up rains and destroys the lakes and trails untill feb. The worst part is every time it rains less than a week later it gets cold and snows. By then it is way to late. Just watch it will happen this week.

The Bagley and Brazeau trails re opened on Sat morning. We got about 6 inches of new snow on top of what was left of our base. (about 1" of ice)

I rode Sat and Sun and would have to say the trails were in fair to good condition. The swaps were a little soft again with a couple of open spots. but the fest of the trails we rode were good.

Just did my driveway after a long weekend of Corperate Jets from the Packer game on saturday (Six F-18s also that went up , but couldnt do the flyover for the game - Mins to low) - Another long sunday coming up - Damn i hope they go to the Superbowl , taking the whole week off

Anyways back to the snow , about 4-6"s of the wet heavy stuff that is good packing snow - Now the cold temps are ready to arrive - Will make for a good base
But more would be nice - Damn if it wasnt for that meltdown , probably couldnt have been any better this early

aTrails are in good condition.We put on a quick 50 yesturday and it was beutiful. The gade is very icey but the woods are nice. Headin out again in a bit.

Just saw 4" - 7" for Thursday! That would make the trails here in Lakewood great. I feel a sick day comin on! LOL

A buddy and I just got done grooming around shawano co. (pella,tillida and shawano) I would say the trails are in really good shape for the snow we got, if we get the snow thursday they will be a 10 out of 10.

I was just told that our system has the new snow that we received the last few days ribboned out nice and smooth. This new snow (5-8") would be all we need to have great conditions on our system. :nana:
