My Daughter and her friends like me to make these for them.
Ingredients;
French bread
red bell pepper
goat cheese
basil
salami
olive oil
slice bread about 3/4" thick
skin some red bell peppers (roast them over a flame or in the broiler for a few minutes until they are chared then put them in a heavy zip lock bag and place in the refridgerator for a few minutes. Take them out of the bag and you will be able to easily skin them.
apply olive oil to the grill side of the bread
layer on a piece of bread the pepper, salami, goat cheese (a few small pieces- say 4-5 3/8" pieces per sandwich), basil leaves
place on panini and top with second piece of bread
Enjoy

Actually, it's panini. In Italian that means a small loaf of bread and also, commonly, means simply sandwich of any kind.
½ inch thick sliced rustic, country bread
Sharp, Cheddar cheese slices
Prosciutto thinly sliced
Sliced Granny Smith apples
Butter
Dijon Mustard
Spread mustard over inside of top slice of bread. A layer each of apples cheese and prosciutto. Butter outside of each bread slice. Grill in Panini grill. YUMMY!
This can also be cooked on a griddle pan the same as a grilled cheese if you don't have a panini grill. Great either way.
Boun Appetito!
