after installing the 136 track i noticed alot of play in my suspension. when i lift on the rear bumper it moves up and down 8-10 inches or so before i feel any kind of compression. I thought it was my shocks needing attention so i rebuilt them...helped a bit but not much. I read a while back that stiffer springs are needed when the 136 conversion is done. any help or part numbers would be much appreciated.

thanks.
Tim.

i have replaced my springs several times and i finally got a spring chart and got a set i thouhgt would work and i am satisfied , i believe this is what i am now using in my 136 1704-088/089. the problem with the stock springs is that they have a 90 degree bend and that does not hold the backend up the new springs are 75 degrees and they work great. hope this helps.

Hey Tim, that was prob me that stated stiffer springs are needed. Were the stock springs ok for you with the 121 skid? If they were, then the easiest thing for you to do is call a dealer and ask your dealer for the springs from a 136" Mountain Cat of the same year as your sled. If your stock springs were a little soft for you, then tell your dealer you want the next stiffest ones from the Mountain Cat springs, and so on. This will take care of your issues. With both of my conversions, the stock 136" Mountain Cat springs of the same year did the trick for me...I'm 6'4" 220 lbs before suiting up.
