i have a 2003 ZL 600 EFI that gets about 5-6 mpg even when i am riding easy. when i first got the sled in 2004 i dont remember expiriencing this problem then but i know it wasn't great. i need some suggestions or replys from people that have had this problem and know how to fix it. thanks.

I get about 11-12 on my '02. Make sure your clutches are clean, your exhaust valves are clean and that the cables are adjusted properly. Doing these things took me from 8 mpg to 11 or 12.
How many miles on the sled total?

I get 140-160miles per tank

I get half that...

You should get from 12 to 14 MPG.

I would guess that you have a problem with the secondary clutch. Check for a broken spring, broken or flat rollers or the back sheave is stuck.

Pull it, take it apart (carefully!), change the spring and rollers, clean and re-install.

I will check here to see how you are making out.

on the 02 take the cover off for the power valves, then there is a plate with 3 s.h.c.s remove them then pull out the valves.

i get 11-12 mpg with my 02 carb. i have gotten about 5 one time then it got better on its own.
