I want to say thanks in advance for any help given. I have a 1983 Polaris Indy Trail 432cc f/c. When I hit the throttle, the primary clutch doesn't move in right away. When it does move in it grabs the belt and the sled jerks hard. The primary then moves back out enough to not make contact. Is the clutch just sticking on the shaft, or is this a problem in the clutch itself? The sled has 26000 miles on it and the clutch was just gone over last February. Every thing was ok until I took it out last week and this started to happen. Any Ideas?

Try checking the belt if it is glazed or hour glass shaped that would do it. If the belt is good it may just be your track is stiff from sitting. Just try lifting the track off the ground and opening the machine wide open for a min or two.
