Hello All...

With the snow coming down and opening day approaching I just wanted to let everyone know that Cabot has a three meal a day restaurant again beer_cheers.gif they offer good home town food at a very reasonable price...Sunday morning they have a killer breakfast buffet. The building also houses the towns Cabot Inn...it only has two rooms but they are both very nice and again are offered at a reasonable price...you can book the rooms at the restaurant or by calling 563-3028.

So if you are coming north and find yourself in the area stop by and take a load off...have a meal and right next door is Harry's Hardware where you can get gas and Searles Cabot General where you can pick up some provisions for the trail.

See you all soon!

Part of our trail system in Cabot was groomed last night, more tonight, and again Friday night...so should be nice if it doesn't RAIN over the weekend!

On another note...got to play with the Phazer last night ... what fun! Turns on a dime and light as a feather....loved it! buttrock.gif

THINK SNOW...SEE YOU ON THE TRAILS! smiley-faces7.gif

We tried to get to cabot by way of the 145 trail we were the only ones out there got stuck on the hill after you cross the rd I think thats part of cabot? I know we were close a lady was clearing off her porch watching me and my bud dig out so we turned around headed back to groton there were 4 ft drifts on that little single wide trail. i couldnt believe how few sleds i saw opening day, we managed just over 100 mi the route 5 trail through groton down to topsham is in good shape , but still alot of open water sled got muddy in a few spots no way to avoid it , and we had to bump up over a pretty good size tree also just before you cross RT 302 heading into Groton State forest from topsham.

Trail 145 that comes out of Marshfield Village toward Cabot is maintained by the Twinfield Snow Travelers...once you get up in the woods a ways out of the village (about one half a mile before WN 80 on 232) our club takes over grooming 145. Hopefully they have been out, I know they had a groomer operator turn over this year so its a new bunch grooming...let us know if you continue to have problems getting through Marshfield Village so that we can call the Twinfield board and discuss it!

Thanks for the info!

Twinfield trails were perfect all weekend. The only part that is not great is the trail from marshfield village back to the RR bed.VERY passable, but not great.

Cabots trails looked like they took it hard by Fri. night. You guys must be getting a TON of traffic through there....thats good,Great trail system, and its improving every year!!

Now we need some more snow !!!

Thank you...and yes...we are getting a lot of traffic because we are the only way north in this area. The groomer was out in the Calais direction last night and we will be doing the trail up to the rail bed today...thanks for riding!
