Bought the kids a 07 z120 for xmas. I am curious as to what studs size is right for this track. Not gonna race it just want it to go and stop if it is icy in the yard. I believe the track has a .5 inch lug. Are tunnel protectors needed ?? Thanks in advance. Also i turned the governor spring in until it was coil bound and it is still faster than I thought it would be for my 4.5 year old, any tips ???

I'm with you on that. My kids do stupid things on those sleds.

I didn't stud either of ours. And my son likes when the lake has fresh snow and he can do donuts!

You know that is what I was thinking ! It would teach more control and require more thinking and of course be more fun ! My friend said they wouldn't go well without but I figured most of the time they are on a packed trail around the house. I'm goin without for now anyway. Thanks for the opinions

Here are some links with the kids in action:

Cool videos, but why aren't the adults doing spinnies?

Thanks, the adult sleds are all studded. Maybe this year I should try the kids sleds and video that!

Oh, I reread your post and no you did not. Maybe this weekend, depends on the snow up there.

I got my box of parts from Rec motors and waiting for my box from Charlie, should be here today per fedex and even got my numbers from Arctic FX today so we are set, well besides doing the work on the sled.

Should be fun! If he does it I will post photos for sure!

I used the ice scrws in my sons mini Z. I just screwed them into the lugs. Not a real threat if run over, but really helps in the icy spots. We live on a dirt road which freezes and the hill to the fields gets real icy. Since the screws I never have to push him up. I also know he can stop when needed. These do not add much weight as well. A bag of 144 is about $25. Piece of mind for the control he needs. I stud my sled for added SAFTEY. Why not for him?

I put in my daughter's 00 Z120 one stud per bar with one inch offset.....I believe it was .770 of an inch...Works great and she's gonna be 6 in febuary...no problems yet........From the window, go 1 inch from the right side, then on the left side one inch then back to the right side one inch from the first stud...meaning 2 inces same on the left then re-satrt the pattern beer_cheers.gif

Looks good. How many studs does it take to do the track? What's the brand and size?
