I know we all love the sound and feel of our two stroke engines. Being a x pro motocrosser I love my two stroke and still ride my cr 250 and I have the 4 stroke 450. I think the new yamaha 4 stroke will keep the 4 stroke going for the die hard. Like it or not we are headed this way...Enjoy..bt.
No gas needed here, so you did not help the prince buy a new jet plane.

4 strokes will probably be the industry standard in 2015.
Besides, whats the worst thing about buying an electric snowmobile?
Having to tell you're father your gay!

I love my four stroke sled! I dont think I could go back to a 2 stroke. It cost me hardly anything to ride. I change my own oil so its cheap. It's hard to tell what 2015 will be like but snowmobiling might not even exist any more, and if it does I dont think there will be 4 companies left. There may only be 2 or 3.

Buy two of the last year 2 strokes and a bunch of spare parts to keep them running for a good long time.

First off, 2015 is only 7 years away!! It'll be here before you know it.
2 strokes are definitely on limited time....how long is the only question.
I think they will probably still be available in 2015, but 4 strokes will be out-selling them by then.
As far as companies and manufacturing are concerned, they were saying the EXACT same thing about ATV's in the late 1980's and that time it was only Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki and Suzuki.
Now we ALSO have Arctic Cat, Gas Gas, Polaris, Can Am, and a few offbeat Korean companies producing quads as well!!
I really would like to see Honda enter the snowmobile market.

Electric motors are not advanced enough yet. They don't have enough power are too heavy and you can't store enough energy to run them. Hydrogen fuel cell is realy the way to go but there isn't enough consumer interst for companys to merit development.
