As much as I would like to say the snow is great come on up and ride opening weekend, unfortunately I can't. We currently have less than 6" of light fluffy snow on the ground, a couple of passes on the same path and it is more or less gone, we did not get all the snow they were saying we would. trbomax is right on with his posts and gives a very accurate description of the current conditions.
If you want to "ride" and not waste gas to be dissapointed with the conditions in the area then I would suggest heading to the UP. As much as I would like to kick off the opening weekend with a boom of business, I do not want to tell people lies about how great it would be and to have them disappointed with how it actually is.
As of right now it looks like perhaps by Monday the riding around here might be ok, but we will keep you posted with honest reports.

Atta boy, Jay.. that's the kind of stuff that will WIN you customer loyalty in the long run!!
I agree, two passes on LES fluff with no base and an unfrozen ground will be a mess in no time.

Nice!!! That's the way to do that!
There is only one place to ride in the state this weekend as of right now and that's the Keweenaw and even then it's pretty localized. Give it time!

Your welcome Tammy, it looks like the cold and snow is going to stay around for a while, next weekend should be good if the temps stay low like they are saying.
Plenty of pizza and chili fries, we are loaded for bear and ready for a great season.

Thanks for the honest update. Way too much BS herd when it comes to snow conditions.
BTW, I love the Hide-A-Way. We always stop there when riding out of Bear Lake. Do you know if the gas station down the street is going to be open this winter?.

rlh6805,
Thanks, we try our best to take care of evryone that stops in. Yes the station has new owners, they will be open this year, they have a new tank to keep cost down and just installed new pumps that accept credit cards at the pump.

Interesting that the gas station pumps can accept cards... Thats very helpful. They seem to be quite competitive for the location.
