Does anyone know if the Powerline Trail behind Anchorage was open to sleds last winter, and if so, how long was it open?
I might be moving to Anc. for work and was just curious. Seems a pretty convenient place to ride when and if it's open.
Thanks for any info.
MYTOYS
Think it did open last year but I never rode there myself. Opens up late in the season most of the time and it's always for a short period of time when it does open up. Nice short trip to Placer or Turny is your best bet when it's late in the season, the snow in those two areas are much better then here in town.

Besides which, you'll have to go get a sticker to ride in the state park. I don't remember it being open more than about 2 weeks last year. There's not much area to ride and definately has avalance danger but yep, it's close to home.
AK Cat
I went up there last yr first day it opened, Crappy snow Wind blown and not much snow. NO fun at all.
(blew up my DD 275 miles on machine no oil from factory) That put a sour note on the ride also....
