Andy, I assume you would like to gear up. The factory gears are 13 wide 19/39 & 68 pitch chain, move the upper gear to a 21 & use a 13 wide 70 pitch chain & you still have your reverse. This combo works well with higher boosted 660's but still noticeble improvement on the top with stock sled. all are availble at you local AC dealer. Good luck.

stock t660 should have 19t top, 39 bottom, 70 pitch chain 13 wide

I think you are right, seems like i used a 72 pitch chain. I'll check my stocker when i head out in the garage tonight.

TPR, you are right with the chain pitch... It is 70 pitch stock & you will have to move to a 72 pitch chain with the gears mentioned... sorry for the mistake. Thanks for bringing light to it. I took all the factory stuff out when I first bought mine & have no reverse & been using 15 wide chains since, so many more choices of gearing. Good luck with whatever gears you decide.

TurboTweaker. Use your 22 upper gear with a 72 pitch chain. We have not tested the 24 upper gear & can not say at this time how it will work but can tell you that the turbo 660 has a lot of trq & responds nicely to taller gears. If you do run the 24 gear lets us know your findings. Jeff

24/39 is a maybe on ice or real hard pack but is alot of ratio with the ACT secondary. You have to run alot of boost to pull that gear in the snow. If you run a regular reverse angle roller secondary 24/39 works better. Less final ratio and no belt slip with the boost cranked. The track also make a big difference on gear choice. 1.25" rip saw is not good 24/39 material. We are running 23/40 on our boosted trail sled with a ripsaw. This is not with an ACT.
Long story short, 24/39 and ACT = Only good for racing up and down the road. 22/39 is a better choice, maybe 23/39. m2c.gif

I'm new to gearing sleds and would also like to gear up a bit. Will changes in gearing affect clutching? I have weights adjustable to 80g. That should work right?
