My brother blew up his mxz500 last year and the cylinders have to be bored out, I am just wondering how much should we go minimum is .010, and max is .040 (I think) are there any reliability issuses when boring? gonna be running spi coated pistons (I swear by them). With such minute change to the bore will there be any noticible performance?

Thanks

not sure what the difference in price is but why not just buy 2 new remanufactured cylinders?

Usually you bore as little as possible, so you can bore again if she pops down the road. Sometimes gouges are too deep and you have to bore max. oversize though. Either way it's your choice. A .040" overbore will net you power gains, but nothing too crazy.

IM PRETTY SURE YOU CANT JUST REPLATE A NIKASIL CYLINDER. I BELIVE IT NEEDS TO HAVE THE OLD NIKASIL STRIPPED. SO BORING THEN SENDING OUT TO REPLATE WOULD BE AN OPTION BUT SURELY NOT A CHEAP ONE.

I just got my 02 800 back from speedwerx... they have the cost to bore too.. its like 50-100 per cyl. http://www.hotseatperformance.com/psp/show...2&CATID=259

anyways the replating cost my $420 for both...
