I put in the 3 delrin washers in my 04 pro xr8. I am already running a stiff spring, does this change my spring rates? Thanks Dan

it does slightly , if you have a finish around 222 you will be fine.

I am running the epi 160/260 purple. I ran the team black/red and red/black but couldn't get enough belt squeze. I always had a bog in the midrange. I ran the epi purple and it ran fine since. I don't want any stiffer than what I have. I will have to play around with the old ones for a bit again.

260 finish is really high, are you running this with a 200+hp motor ? You may need a gram more in the primary maybe 2 and less angle on the helix. what helix are you running?

The washers are so thin they will not change the poundage much. Not any different than comparing a new spring to one with some miles on it.

Do you guys recommend running 3 delrin washers for every setup? One under the spring cup and one on each side of the spring? I'm getting ready to order some helix's and springs and I was going to order two delrin washers too but I'll get three if that would be better.

I know that is a high finish. I am running it on my xr8 mod. Has about every mod you can put on one w/o a big bore. I was running a 66-46 last year but made the switch to 66-44 this year. I was running heelclicker2 weights but had trouble with them at the end of the year. I then could only pull 66g weights but ran out of snow to change my setup. The 66g couldn't pull nearly as hard as the hc weights. I will likely back off the finish and add some primary weight to 68g. This sled is now my back up(wife's) and don't have much time to mess with it. Those damn hc weights pull like a freight train but are junk. I also changed my track to an IQR track so now I have alot to mess with. I have the stock 25/40 gearing. I was thinking of keeping the gears and running 68g weights with the 66-44 and the 155-222 spring. What you think? I have all my money wraped up in my other mod so cheap is best. Thanks Dan

useing the idea that big twins like load and triples like to sing I would back off the finish angle 2* and see if that gets the secondary to cool off . Once you have run that to see how many RPM you turn maybe a few grams maybe just a spring change in the primary. I have a few helix laying around what do you need ?

Thanks xc-mark, I should be ok for now, I ran the 66-46 last year and will try the 66/44 this year, that is my 2*. The new one also has another helix, 62/44 or something I can try. I have the 3 springs to choose from and then a ton of primary springs. I will give it all a try once I get the IQ singing. I really am only keeping it for the hill-x at the end of the season, she got 3rd in the improved 8 class last year, a new deep lug track should be the ticket for this year.
