Firstable im very new on the forum... and very new in snowmobile world... its my first ride a 94 Indy classic Touring version

Do i messed something or the Classic edition is with carburator and the Classic Touring is Fuel injection?

Yesterday i ride it for the very first time... it roll ver well for the state of the sled... but 3h later it begin to goes bad... Revolution could go by 6500-7000 rmp and i was topping maybe at 30mph... very slow and boring speed :P

My compression before the ride was 115psi (cold engine :S)

My question is WHAT SHOULD I DO?!... (im noob with snowmobile) i just bough fuel injector cleaner(the one directrly mixed with fuel) because i though maybe an dirty injector... but i dont know if i have injector or carburator so...

Help me please!

That machine should be fuel injected. If the engine rpms were staying up around 7000 and the machine was barely moving I would suspect belt or clutch troubles. What was it like fromm a dead stop? was there any squeal or other noises, what about rubber smell? A fresh belt should sit up on the secondary clutch(the one closest to your left leg)about 1/8 or so higher than the edge of the clutch, when the machine is at rest. do you know the history of how well the sled was maintained? If the clutches and belt weren't serviced or maintained you should look into this as soon as possible.

I dont know the history of maintenance of that sled... and it was more 6k rpm... maybe i lil less...

There were no smell of anything, no smoke, the belt seems fine (and new!) and the cluth seems to be in decent condition...

Is that possible that i ran on 1 cylinder out of 2? that could explain my power lost... The only thing i heard was a little whistle, weak one but that whistle wasn't there when the sled ran ok...

i'll check my plugs... i know how to detect a wet plug... but how for a damaged one? is any other method except putting the steel shield directly on the motor?(electrical tester or something...)

And for the injector cleaner, brand STP mixed with gaz, is that a good idea for a 2 strokes... because i think its a car cleaner... and no inscription about 2/4 strokes on the bottle...

Be very CAREFUL with "cleaners" They are exactly that. They will clean the oil right off the crank bearings, & result in a huge failure.
Chances are that the battery on that is weak, I have had multiple 500's & 650 rxl's all with the F.I. & if you do not have at least 11.9 volts in the batt. you will have performance probs, just like your saying.
What happens is the computer recognizes that there is a fault & goes to a rich mode I.E. safe mode, so thats why you see slow speeds it just gets too much fuel to run properly.
If it's a fairly new batt. & wont hold a charge from the machine chances are it's your charge coil. & DO NOT GO TO WAL-MART for a batt. They are made in china & are not worth their weight in mud!!! What you want is a YAUSA batt. they are designed for the abuse in a sled! If your going to sell it , yeah put in the wal-mart batt, if you like to go on far trail trips go with the YAUSA.
Theres nothing like being 3 hrs from home with dead sled. i_need_snow.gif

What you want to do also is get a batt. operated handheld volt meter, like electricans and handy men use, check your batt b-4 you go out, 11.8-12.9 & your good to go, carry it with you so when problems do arise you can pretty much pin point whats going on.
Another good idea is if you go 2-3 weeks with out using this mach is to get a batt. tender & hook it up, it basically gives you a trickle charge & will keep the batt. "fresh"
They are great machines when running right, but when they go south ugghh!
The efi boxes themselves will flash codes when something is wrong, however it's been for ever & a day since I can remember what they are
