Permit placement

The permit is valid only when permanently affixed on the snowmobile. General Rules of the FCMQ (article 11) specify that the permit must be affixed on the left side of the cab.

Would the LH side of the windshield be allowable? We'll be riding in Quebec for 2 days from Notre Dame du Nord to La Reine.

On our sleds it'll be pretty hard to find a glossy surface for the permit w/o covering the existing graphics or Ontario registration #s or validation tag. The side panels are open of graphics, but are a pebbly surface not the best for applying decals especially when it's cold.
Mid Range

i wouldn't see any problems.I used to put mine under the headlight years ago and never had a problem.

To comply with the fine detail of the Quebec Federation regs it is my understanding that the annual trail permit sticker must be placed on the LH side of your hood! Have been present on several occassions when guys were given grief for having them on the windshield; one time outside of St-Michelle des Saints when the dude was compelled to buy a "replacement" sticker for the one that was on his windshield and affix it to his hood. (Your sticker will void itself if you try to remove and re-position it).

The logic for this is kinda simple. it is real easy to switch the windshield from one similar model sled to another. ( knew a guy a few years ago who had two wedge indy's and swithched his windshield with the sticker to whichever sled he was taking to Quebec on a particular trip).

I have always placed them n the left hand side of the windshield. My wife's sled has 4 years running on the windshield, never has an issue.

we put them on the left side of the tunnel and never had had issues.

If you look at the pic of the sled in Quebec tourism that they use for all their ads,it shows the permit on the left side windshield.

Always used the left tunnel, and only one wrinkled nose, so far.
Most do put 'em on the left side of the hood.

You can change windshields but the #'s still have to match...
