I'm sorry, the search is not working for me. it just gives me errors.
I just wanted some general comments about the 2006 Sabercat 700 LX. I just bought a brand new one and will have it in a few days. I am new too sledding and don't know what to expect from this machine. Was it a good decision to buy it? Is there a place I can read reviews? Has there been any known or common weaknesses or problems associated with this machine. Thanks again, I am knew to snowmobiles and especially this machine so all comments are welcome.
thanks

Wow. "NEW" ? That is a WHOLE LOT of sled. Be careful, it will attain crazy sublime speeds and you'll find the end of the straight comming up WAY faster than you had planned. You'll LOVE it. Ditch the stock carbides for SINGLE runner 6" carbides. Do it FIRST thing. After that, learn the sled slowly, it has "quirks" that need to be learned beforeyou attack a trail WFO.

Yeah the single carbides handle a lot better. I'd say wait to change to the 6" carbides until you have a good snow base -- early season riding will wreck a new set of carbides real fast.

Yes oldtimer is !00% correct!! that sled and firecats are very very fast and 06 ecu are the ticket.. have fun,,,, but remember its fuel injected,, and the flipper for the gas is wicked light to press .... equals to 0-60 in nothing.. dont ride it like a mad man... untill you get to know the whole sled... you may need to scrap the shocks for some Fox floats out front and the 2" dia,, sno-pro out back,, just a thought

thanks guys, I'm looking forward to getting some snow so i can put it to use. Any places to look to get general maintenance, safety, and newbie sledding info?
My whole life I've only been into quads and dirtbikes so this is all pretty new although i've taken some friends for a couple rides over the years but nothing much.

This is articthunder's wife and I ride a 05 sabercat 700. Best thing I did was to put ditch the stock carbides. I run 6" studboy duece bars with 154 studs. I am also planning to upgrade my sway bar. I find it is little tippy, but I tend to not use my whole body in controllying the sled. I also sit very close to the front which also changes the dynamic of the handling. I went from an 89 Formula Plus to this sled. the riding is completely different. The sabercat's has a lot of get up and go, but it's not out of control. the skis will come up with ease. Just becareful of hitting the gas by accident. It's fuel injection and a couple of times I slipped and gave it gas and you'll go...., but once you let off, the sled is quick to pull back. I have ridin my husband's sled and it's opposite. His is to much power. Anyways, we found my sled to use a lot of oil, but that can be adjusted. The enigine light would come on when riding in the smaller tight trails at slow speeds. I believe it's a warning when it's running hot. The ride can be a little bouncy too, but the suspension can be adjusted to your liking. I did have to replace my battery the second year, but come to find out if you have remote start it should be unplugged over the summer. Wish I had known that. The trunk is definetely a bonus. I thought of converting it to a full tank, but it can hold so much I hate to give it up and as long as my husband rides a sled that needs more gas than mine I am all set. Overall I like the sled, the oil is the only downfall, but It's pretty versatile, I can go 100 on the lake and still climb Magalloway mtn. The sled is definetely fun with comfort! Have fun!

Why do you all feel its necessary to change the stock carbides right away?
I bought my 05 Sabrecat 700 LX new last year and I thought it handled great with the stock carbides - maybe it's cause I was coming off an older sled and didn't know the handling could be better? What would I notice would be better with the 6" single carbide??
I should mention that I ran the stock 1" track last year but I'm putting the 1.385" AC SnoPro track on it as we speak - will this make a difference in the carbides I should use? recommendations?

First off you make no mention of studs - second you may have had ideal riding conditions, but - the sabercat ot of the box is probly the worst handling cat ever - of course I'm partial to the handling of a zr, but with a carbide upgrade (assuming you have the joke staggered 4" bar) made a huge difference - especially when trying to keep 140hp in a corner, but honestly our old 89 formula outhandles the sabercat outta the box, another help is a stiffer swaybar - like 45bucks or so, and an adjustable limiter strap kit
