Install it on the mag side carb. Make sure you lock tight the fitting in and glue the tubing to it secure. Make sure you use clip ties to secure the line to the airbox across the carbs. In other words, minimize movement of the line. Keep away from a blowing belt.

I have some pictures of mine done on my 02 600, I will post them later today (after 2 pm sometime). It is a pretty easy install, and well worth the money... Always ran spot on last year and picked up some on gas mileage.

You need to install it BELOW the air horn shelf ,inside the airbox . If you took the shelf out, put it back in. You will need to drill your mounting location in the white plastic airbox portion or mount it to the carb plate. i mounted mine above and centered somewhat between the 2 carbs, just to the side of the carb vent nipple, so the tempaflo sets between the two shelf horns. The short large clear hose drooped downward between the horns with the plastic "T" in the end of it. The small black tube off the top of the carb i gently looped forward and around the mag spark plug and back into the tempaflow . Keep that black line as long as you can. 14" or more i think is the minimum. I drilled another small hole next to the tempaflow to feed the carb vent line from the side of the tempaflow, through the airbox, to connect to the "T''d together carb vent lines.

I just installed in my 04 700 with an slp air box mod(bye bye air box shelf and horns). I fabricated the factory vent plugs and put the tee fitting inside the airbox. It was simple and looks cleaner in my opinion. I just drilled and epoxed some vacumn fittings to the inside of the air box fitting allowing me to put the tee inside the airbox. I have not yet tuned the system but from what I have read they seem to work very well. I used JB weld with the vacumn fitting and it seems to be a very tight fit.

04 has a slip in airbox, 02 does not. Correct ?

Don't know what you mean by slip in but I believe they are different. It does slip in and out. Mine had a shelf and two air horns.

My 01 does not slip in, my 04 does.

Looks good but do you have the shelf still in ? If you do, do you have the tempaflow vent end(opposite the screw end) routed UNDER the shelf ? It should be.
