I put a 07 440 IQ track under my XC, and now I'm told the track will not hold up for my riding style. I do a lot of ditch banging, some trail, and powder if at all possable. I was told that with ditch banging, or low snow conditions it will lose paddles left and right because the track compond is made for loose track type snow. Is this true?

That track is pretty tough. One of the toughest 1.75" tracks available. Not indestructable but pretty tough for that lug height.
It will surely fall apart with lots of low snow really hard trail riding but if there is snow in the ditch and on your trails it will last for a fairly long time. Not nearly as long as a 1.25" ripsaw or something but it will last for a while. I have seen these IQ tracks that have 3 seasons of racing, practice and ramp riding and they are still holding up. Sure there are lots of lugs missing and torn but an IQ track with 50% of the lugs missing will perform almost as well as a new 1.25" ripsaw in the snow.
Don't abuse the track when snow conditions are low and you will be just fine. If you punch out on every corner and like to spin the track in low snow conditions you will tear some lugs. The track will stay together but lugs will rip off.

Sweet, thanks. I'm not the kind of guy to abuse my sled by any means. Treat any track the way you where saying and you'll lose lugs. I was just told it would fall apart at as low as 200 miles. But the guy must not know what he's talking about.

i just got a 1.75" poo iq track (thanks Tom)
the main reason why going the Poo 1,75" route is because the last extremly well,
a friend of mine used this track this past season and he isnt the shine and buff kind a guy -if you know what i mean,
he punish his stuff to th max, and the Iq track stayed pretty much mint for the whole season.. they are not indestructable, but probably the most durable 1.75" track out there..

Are the 04 XR and IQ tracks the same?? Mine was good when I got it then I put a lil more power spinning the thing and I broke off or severly bent every stud. The lugs seemed to handle it pretty good though. Got a new one with good studs for this season.

I had an IQR track on my 04 xr8 the last 2 seasons and i am missing every outside lug on the thing. I cut it to 1 3/8" with 192 pics though. I also can't say that I treated her very well either. I ride hard but she just didn't stand up to the abuse. It didn't start coming apart till late this last season then it just fell apart. I am now running an uncut IQR track but she won't get run much this year due to the new iron. I doubt the wife beats on it like I did. I think that you will be fine if you leave it uncut, if you are going to cut it then get a ripsaw.
