Hi I just bought a new 2006 iq 440, I was told the sled doesn't come with any tool kit, owners manual, skags (wear bars) or warranty? is this true or are they trying to pull the wool over my eyes?
Rick
No wool here. You are being told the truth.....almost. If it was new it should have come with a plastic bag that has a few things in it. In the '06 bag comes:
The Owners manual, a simple little pocket sized book that tells you about the sled and servicing information.
The Secondary Clutch Tool, You must have this to change the belt.
Additional bolts and an aluminum support tube that ties the two rails together right in front of the rear axle.
The Steering Post mount...likely installed by the dealer.
The regestration paperwork.
A auxillary pull cord to start the sled if the recoil breaks. Wrap it around the primary and pull away.
No carbides or ski runners come with this sled.
There are some Very Important updates that must be done to this sled before you ride it.
Check the Polaris tips page Here. You MUST DO #1, 4 & 8. The others may be optional but those three are not.
For the #8 tip there are several other options for fixing this problem but something must be done if you are going to ride this sled hard.
