I have two sleds insured through Metropolitan, both are 550's. The 02 cost $80 and 05 $95/year. Liability is about $20/sled.

Get Met...it pays!
jacksmith101
foremost will insure two sleds for 150, a small amount more for three. liability only. they will sell you more coverage if you want. there are no other companies offering stand alone ins. to mass residents unless you lie about where you garage your sled.

Banker is right, Metlife costs me $80 for an Attak, full coverage, all year, 250 deduct.
I got mine through Metlife rep Eileen Wunder who I met at the Sno-show in Syracuse.

good luck!

I have been with with MetLife and have been for 25 years , Never a claim. And I got a quote yesterday from my MetLife rep I almost had a heart attack. Something is wrong, it will be more because it is 1050cc too.

The annual premium for your 2008 snowmobile would be $462 for the following
coverages:

liability $100,000 per person/$300,000 per occurrence
property damage $ 50,000
medical $ 5,000 per person
uninsured motorist $100,000/$300,000
collision deductible $ 250
comprehensive ded $ 250

This is assuming that the new sled is 800 cc's. Is that right or is it
less or more? The only options for snowmobile premiums is either a one-pay
or monthly from your checking account.

OUCH! To insure an 800cc sled in CT with Liberty Mutual is $180, tops. I would have to look up the specific coverage, but we had the highest premium for everything ....

I wonder if fire, theft and actual replacement cost is included in these super low quotes too.

$80 would be good. Like I said I only pay $61 for mine through my homeowners.

Hello we insure two snowmobiles through Progressive for around $250 a year total.
Also ~ there is a new TMA this year, its a 5-Day pass that includes Insurance...it is perfect for those who live out of state who only come for a couple weeks a year...the cost is $95.00 for the five days but like I said includes the insurance, hassle free!

PLEASE REMEMBER, The insurance included in the 5 day pass is the minimum liability coverage. Nothing else.

Minimum coverage is all he is looking for. Just wants to be legal.

the only company that writes stand alone liability coverage for mass residents is foremost. other states may have coverage but not mass. liberty will write sleds but only in combination with auto or home, others to maybe.

I got a quote the other day for 2 sleds an 06 Sabercat 500 and my new sled 08 F8 Nightfire. Full Coverage on both was 670 with Met life plus I have auto insurance with them too. Previous year was 1400 for the sabercat 500 and sabercat 700 I had from Foremost full coverage, I just turned 26 in July so I am guessing that had a huge adjustment vs turning 25 more responsible bla bla.... My deductible was 500 instead of the 250 though for the metlife.

Good luck everybody.

I searched "snowmobile liability insurance" on yahoo and found this company out of New York that gave him $25k per person,$50k per accident and $10k property damage for $85. It the minimal amount of coverage but thats all he was looking for. Thanks for all the input.

The only way he can get Ins. in vermont is if he keeps the sled here at least 6 mo out of the year, he needs a physical address that it is kept at......

the requirement that you have liability insurance is a crock anyway. it just enriches the ins co's and falsely gives you a sense of security. if you need ins, then you need more than that and you should buy it! its not the governments place to make me do it.
