I was going to run out to Jack Willeys and want ed to buy some jets,and wanted to jet down from 450 to 420 and didnt know if anyone had done this yet and had their DET kick in,I know that jets are cheap and I should tune it in my self ,but the winter is short at this point an dI just want to make one trip out there today and and rejet only once today

I PUT 430 MAINS IN MINE. I WAS RUNNING WIDE OPEN IN 4-5 INCHES OF SOMEWHAT PACKY SNOW AND IT FLASHED ONCE. OTHERWISE I HAVE HAD IT OPEN ON LAKES AND ROADS MANY TIMES. NO PROBLEMS.

I had no problems with 420s in mine when it was stock. Now with an SLP single, the DET kicks in with 480s. Weird?

I put 440's in my 04' XC800 and its better than the stock 460's but still safe for single digits. Below 0 is another story. DET has never come on yet, even after making a thunder run down the lake.
