Question, did that include all new parts, top & bottom end cap seals, IFP seal, rod seal, fill valve seal, bleeder valve seal, internal wiper, external wiper, piston & IFP wear strip, oil, and gas?
Or just disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and new gas and oil?
Don
I would have to dig up my invoice but I believe I had to have a couple of shaft seals replaced and maybe a few other small parts replaced but for the most part this was for a complete go thru and to clean them and then replace the oil and recharge the shocks.
If you read my post you quoted, I said that his cost would depend on what all he needed done to his shocks. Seeing how he did not say what was wrong with them and I could not see them first hand to give an opinion I was just offering my opinion on what I would do if it were me.
Now as far as pricing goes, I normally have my shocks gone thru every year. I find that they stay in top notch form this way.
I have had the very same service that Jerry did for me, done by some of the other vendors you see mentioned around here on this site. I can say that Jerry's prices and service is second to none and his turn around time is better than any of the others I have had to deal with.
Some of these shock rebuilding guys are charging an arm and a leg for a simple shock service where they are just taking them apart, cleaning them and putting them back together with some new oil and a charge of gas. For this they want you to pay them a hundred bucks or so per shock. Now thats just plain nuts if you ask me!!
