I use 3/16 x 5/8 steel shank steel head rivets I by them from a co. called Robrand here in CT. You can find them at just about any fastener place.

awesome thanks alot for the info!

Yes, you can use the 3/16" steel rivets. Your local hardware store should have them. Most importantly get a quality rivet gun. I have broken a cheap one with steel rivets.

I use a pnuematic rivet gun and a compresser. Works excellent. Gives you a good solid pull and will be tight.

Those are known as tubular rivets, they are available from Polaris in black and several other colors, they require a special tool for installation, available from McMaster Carr, for about $20.

.25 each. For the ones on the tunnel. Which sled has "dime" sized rivets? Those type may be the inter-lock rivets.

i might be off by dime size... any way i went to lowes, sears, and i can not find rivets in the size i need for the life of me! are these like a dealer only thing?

I wrecked my sled a few years back and had to replace some rivets on the foot wells. I couldn't find any at the hardware stores and the poo dealer didn't have any in stock. I found some comparables at a Yamaha dealer. They worked fine.

Only thing is now my sled it a lot heavier with those Yammi parts on it. frech11.gif

Hard to find other than a dealer, but Fastenal and McMasterCarr normally has them.
