Just wondering if anyone has ever ran across this combo before. A friend on mine is a huge doo fan, he has raced for years and is very good with motors and isn't scared of trying anything crazy.
He is putting together a new motor, he is using an old 780 triple bottom with 617 jugs that are sleved and overbored. I don't know all the details of the motor but the way it's ported is crazy. Has anyone else ever tried this combo? It should be running by the weekend.

I have seen a 780 lower end with 617 jugs bored 100 over and ported to the nuts. On a dyno print out I saw figures like 225 HP and more torque than I could believe. The boy's at FAST used to monkey around with stuff like that about 12 years ago trying different combo's of parts to see what they could come up with. Then they made a 925 twin that was insane fast and a ton of torque to pull your arms out of there sockets. :div20: I am building another 617 right now and am boring it 120 over using Bombo factory pistons that much over from the factory, a little tunnel porting and some polishing and a set of F-III race pipes with silencers so I can trail ride it in a 97 S chassis with a BLT in front and an M-10 136" in the rear with a 1.25 paddle andf studs Should be a fun sled for the powder and breaking trail.
