Um
Not at all Sir, not trying to stir the pot. If you look again you see I stated openly that sentence was cut from the article. I also posted the link with the intention those who can think past a simple sentence would go there and read the article.
But in anycase if thats what you think, then all I can say is your wrong in this case. But I will say your opinion ans statements were well presented in your reply. I also agree with the others, with sledding areas being closed and cut off by suburban exspansion and issues with sleds not staying on the trails and noise PLUS the gas prices and current economic indicators. Snowmobiling in all respects is looking like a troublesome issue both for riders, dealers, lodging and tourism.
Just my 2 cents........mps

Meanwhile, sales at snowmobile maker Arctic Cat (ACAT, news, msgs) are hitting a wall, and home-furnishings manufacturers and retailers such as Bed Bath and Beyond (BBBY, news, msgs), Williams-Sonoma (WSM, news, msgs), La-Z-Boy (LZB, news, msgs), Stanley Furniture (STLY, news, msgs) and Bassett Furniture Industries (BSET, news, msgs) have no cushion to speak of. Avoid them all.
Cat is thrown in with a bunch of other recreational products, so if you listen to his advise you wouldn't invest in ANY snowmobile company stock. For a city-slicker that's probably good advise but it won't affect Cat and here's why. The CDO companies his speaks of earlier in the article live and die by the trade of mutuals and bonds, Arctic Cat, on the other hand, makes a product and builds to a consumer demand. Even if the stock goes tits up tomorrow, they will still make their money, the stock will just be a really good deal.
The big question is will the market slow down more then it already has from a recession, global warming or whatever the flavor of the day is. Having been in this business during a recession years ago I saw people needing to escape the stress of the times and sales were pretty good. The solution is simple; make a kick-ass sled!
