wouldnt the number be cast into it somewhere if it were stock? is there anyway to find out or if it was progressive or anything?

Not if someone messed with it, they can be cut into something else, usually on a tape mill. There are numbers molded into some of them that may mean nothing if it was machined on.

R/7 is a 45/34 and made for a 1 7/16" wide belt.

what would 45 34 be then? Ive been told i should run a 42/34, i have a 42/36 but the guy that had it one broke the ramps cuz it is bolt on adjustable ramps so im weary of putting it back on because i dont want to be on a trail somewhere without tools and it breaking a ramp... i dont know how common helix's are with interchangeable ramps?
