I think you'll find that most of us would just as soon forget the ride where we got caught in a snowstorm. I know I would. We got caught returning to Jackman from Rockwood during last year's mid-April storm. The absolute MOST MISERABLE riding I've ever done. Couldn't see shit, had to stop every few seconds to swipe the visors, even heated shields didn't stop the snow from caking up on them. The groomers had quit going out the day before, so it was mogul city the whole way as well. Those moguls are really no fun to deal with when you can't see them...yeah, thanks for reminding of that ride!!

in my case a picture wouldnt have helped for crap cause we could ONLY see 5 feet ahead of us on lake mooselookmeguntic (spelling). we traveled like 20 miles across that whole lake trying to find the trail. scary part is is that its got pressure ridges all over it and only a selected trail is supposed to be followed, hard to follow tracks that you cant see lol.

i took my 59 year old dad to Quebec 2 years ago, his second time on a sled in 20 years. We left St Georges and got caught in a storm just east of lac etchemen on 547 crossing from 55 to 35. Missed the trail crossover at Massif du Sud and ended up turned back onto 35 after being completely lost a couple of times. Because of the weather we decided to run to Montmagny instead of Rivier-du-loup. The storm was ice near the seaway, trees down on the trail everywhere and I lost my shield cord going under one and didn't notice for awhile until my shield was solid ice, had to clear by hand and use the sleds pipe for 20 miles. Only ended up with 150 miles on the first day and had to cut the rest of the trip short a bit from plan but still ended up with 800 miles in 4 days.

Wasn't that mid March last year in Jackman 16th-18th? Had to ride from Rockwood to Jackman with the wife behind me in freezing rain. That was absolutely the worst day of riding I had. Heated shield will need to be replaced as I was wiping it every minute or so. The next day was one of the best I had.

Nah, wasn't mid-March for us. We didn't hit Jackman until April. It was the weekend of the 15th. It was the last storm of the year. Scott at Spruce Meadow was great. Kept us informed on trail conditions and grooming. But when we got there, it had warmed up enough that the last day (night) of grooming was the night before. Trails started out OK, but with the day's traffic and the snow coming down it got miserable real quick. I'm looking forward to going up there again when the conditions are better, it was the end of the season (officially, anyway) when we went last year. Guess it's what we got for trying to squeeze in "just one more ride".

This storm was rough. Mostly deep snow but I think the wind was calm. My worse night was riding out of the forks and getting caught in a wild and windy storm which took us hours to find our way out of the woods. Ended up staying at RedBucks. Purchased a Garmin 60C GPS because of it and will never ride without one again.

That bridge is incredible....Does it open to two lanes up on top or is it that narrow the whole way? What happens if another sled is coming from the other way?!?!
