How differnt are torsion springs from each model to the next?

Say, i want to take some out of a indy 500 put them into a indy 340.....will they work? They all look the same, what makes each model differnt? Other than maybe the diameter, but that shouldnt matter since the sizes dont vary that much...

There are many factors, diameter of wire, number and diameter of coils, length of arms and open angle. Looks are not close enough

Model to model is one thing- but you're talking suspension to suspension. Indy 5's were X-10's, 340 were X-Lites.

Better to by the heavier gauge correct spring.

I just figured that i could get some off a 500 and put them in since it would be alot cheaper and stiffer than buying the 340 stiffs. But, if they wont work aww well.

Thanks!
