We booked the rooms last week for our annual trip up north & ran into a bit of a snag.
A heads up for folks planning a trip to northern Ontario. The big hockey tournament is on that weekend & the Econo, Quality & Waterfront are booked solid that weekend. There are still some rooms @ the Auberge Country Inn (behind the Husky).
I wouldn't recommend the Wheels Inn (if it's still open) we drove by it a few years ago & it looked like 1 of those places you rent by the month.

What weekend is it ?
I have to plan a trip there this winter and might as well stay away during the hockey games.

Watch out for the curling tournament weekend as well. I believe it's been a couple weekends after the hockeyfest in the past.

Sorry nothing to do with hockey but,........
We always come up the A trail to New Liskeard and end up at Roosters on the lake for lunch.
Questions
1. What is the nearest point south of NL that you can jump on the lake?
2. We cross highway 11 at Latchford???? Can you get off the trail there or do you have to wait until Haileybury?
Thanks for your help!
We can save 10 minutes maybe???

By the month or hour? Is it decent? Just curious more than anything...

The place looked like 1 of those motels on COPS where people are living in the units rather than just staying overnight.

come up to Timmins, i'v got a heated garage you can keep the sleds in, and trail access from my yard. Halibury is a great place to stay, right down the road from Liskeard. This is a very nice little hotel with great ownership and friendly service
