Hi i just recently got a go kart and put a snowmobile engine in it. I took the snowmobile engine from a 1979 arctic cat pantera 340. The snowmobile ran fine i loaded it onto the trailer with it running and than i brought it home and took the engine out. I got the engine in the go kart and am trying to start it. I have to add gas to the cylinder to start it and have all electrical unhooked. But it will shut off when the gas runs out of the cylinder. When i hook up the electrical there isn't any spark but when its unhooked it has spark. It appears there is no gas getting into the cylinders/ carburetor but it shows gas in the filter and when i unhook the gas line at the end that hooks up to the engine gas will spill out so it has gas going through there and it is brand new fuel line. I was wondering if theres something in the electrical that sends electricity to the plug wires liek the CDI box and if that will regulate the gas flow because when i give it gas also it doesnt sound any different.

Take the carbs appart.....The needles and or seats were jared around and got stuck..... No electrical should effect the carbs what so ever. And clean the carbs sisce you will have them appart.

Is the impulse line from the crank case to the fuel pump connected and in good shape? Is the fuel tank properly vented? The carb will need cleaning anyway, but also make sure the fuel will actually flow through the system to the carb. You can do this by blowing in the fuel tank vent line and see if fuel flows out the line to the carb.

well idk much of what that means i got 5 pics here ill put up and what u mean when u say blow through line, do u mean see if fuel's in the filter and can travel through the filter into the carb? cause if so it does

It appears that you have the fuel line and the pulse line hooked up wrong, swap them.

so the fuel line goes in the bottom plug and then what happens the one in the bottom of the carb goes to where the fuel is atm?
