Picked up my new Renegade from Cobequid Mountain Sports on Friday. Ches and the folks are A # 1. Did a very good job preparing the sled and going over it with me. Although the secondary has them a bit perplexed too. All kinds of numbers and marks but no mention in the owners manual.??? Those of you who know me, know I have been a die Hard POLARIS MAN for years! ( North Star / Polaris ) I just couldn't resist the light weight of the new Rev XP.
Saturday we got an early storm (15 inches Alyesford Lake Nova Scotia Canada) so I got a chance to put some miles on it right away. WHAT a TREAT. Let me tell you it does everything right. The power delivery is much smoother than other 800's I have driven. ~ More like a 600 SDI. But man this thing ROCKS! & Handles super.
I put long J hooks on it, running board supports, the small bag over the gauges, a fuel caddy, studs were not in stock. I also ordered the largest bag I could get. Bag part # 280000308 but it seems BRP has the number wrong, a smaller one came in which was a much nicer bag, but I wanted one big one. If you look on the website and at the parts brochure you will see the same number on 2 different bags, Ches is checking into it. ALSO the sled comes with 5.7 Pilot Skis but not duel runners as advertised. After driving it I doubt I will drill them and add the second runner unless a big changed occurs when I stud it. It is plenty positive now, in fact you can turn on pavement.
Light is Right and long is not wrong!

Nice to see some are riding already, man it looks sweet,so was the windshield enough protection in the new snow you rode in? Did the sled feel cold compared to your last poo,or do you feel it it ok,the way it is? Does it feel like it will be a 115 mph sled when broke in,and on a good hard road/trail,man you lucky New brunswick riders are looking good so early this season, best of luck, and feel free to give us some more updates about your new gade as soon as you rip it up again lol... later thanks

Heading back out this moring, snow should be better today, set up over night. No way of telling the top end yet, but it sure pulls. Mid Windshield is adequate. But when you hit the real deep stuff the snow hits you in the face unless you stand up. Hand protection is good. Feels warmer than the REVs I have driven. The tunnel bag I ordered is in the picture but a smaller white and black one came in with the same part #. The smaller one is in the brochure, larger one is on the website with the same #. The smaller one would be fine for a 2 day trip. But when I go I leave for 7 - 10 days.

You do realize that the bag zips open to the full size right?

Is that the medium or large windshield you have?

Yes I know the bag zips open and gets twice as big. It is a good bag and I may have to settle for it.
It came with at Medium wind shield.
It might be geared a bit high?
Trails were better yesterday Nov 11th. Lots of Deer Hunters out driving the woods roads. Had fun breaking trails on side roads though. Rode from North River Rd (Aylesford Lake) to almost Lake Paul. Some wet holes & trees hanging over the trail. No frost in the ground. Ran for about 4 hours with Kevin Scott and his new Yamaha and Mike Welton on his Renegade. Met up with 3 guys from Sackville who rode in from New Ross / Salmontail area. And later met Mike Chute on his legend and Roger Tompson on his RX1. Everyone agreed for November Riding was GREAT

You could be right about it being geared to high, but my guess right now would be no,only because it may not be fully broken in yet,and it might need to be jetted down a touch. How many hours do you have on the chip, does it feel any stronger the more you ride it,and did you rip it up thru the first 20 miles or so,to make sure the rings got a good seat, this could all hehp it feel stronger on down the road, and than it may still need to be dropped a tooth on top, plus it may need a little extra weight in the front clutch, sense this seems to be the best place to start with, but man it sure looks like the same snow we had two novembers ago here in maine,in jackman out of the demo yard thanksgiven weekend,it was awsome,we put 200 miles on one sunday in similar conditions, alot of blowdowns open water holes and some packed roads that we could rip it up on,and even though i was on my new 06 attak,it only was able to get 13-14 mpg at best, and all i heard was it will get 20 + i knew it would be hard to achieve that in lose snow with no frost in the ground, but it was so good just getting out for the first time in the new year,i dident care, was having way to much fun lol..

hows it feel from 30 mph (50kmh) to 8omph (??? 130kph?? Not sure) coming out of a corner on to a straight away and pinning it to the bar type of situation???
does it lean over easier?? Snow might not be deep enough for that eh?? I was gonna wait till next year ,but don't know if I can take it that long!!!

I am breaking it in right, lots of extra oil, no long pulls. lots of variation in the throttle. Running great, not a sputter. Engages low, 4000 RPM but it is nice and tame when trying to go around blowdowns and rocks. EASY to drive, My 15 yr old found it much easier to ride than my POL 700 XC SP At 7000 it just does it's thing and the MPH keep rising. shove it past 7000 RPM and hold the ____ on. I let a buddy ride it. his words "Ballsie" but clutched better than previous Rev 800 gades. Simply put at this point in time the power is very predictable.
NOW Here is a laugh... The Spedo goes to 200 so I just figured it was in KMS for Canada, I was flying down a woods road and looked down and saw 80 ( thinking 50 MPH ) slowed down gave it to her on the next straight away Same thing. Thought geezzz I'm loosing my touch that felt fast... Maybe the spedo is not working... Turns out you have to request it to be switched to KM per hour. With a 200 MPH Spedo you sure don't use much of it when it is set on MPH !!! Yeah I laughed at myself when I read the owners manual last night.
No plans to change anything like gearing etc until I get a few hundred miles and it studded, I feel it is set up for fuel milage as well so I don't want to stray to far from stock.

Great post and ride by the sounds of it. I can't wait to take mine for a rip but alas have another 4-6 weeks before that happens unfortunately. I see by your pics that your buddy on the new yamaha used to ride an artic cat - by his suit!

~ Have fun putting on the miles and posting for us to read.

Yeah know as T-catman. Races a Hooper Thunder Cat. I still think he will fine the Yam underpowered even for playing on trails.
