I have been looking at the slp & timbersleds airbox kit for my 05 900fuse. The only differences I can see between these 2 are the timbersleds version is cheaper and easier to install. I am just wondering if anyone has seen or used either of these and had feed back on them?
Thanks

go slp as it is a better design and also works better.

I just put the timbersled intake on my Fusion, my thought is after reading thru everything I could find about all of the intakes it seems to be personal preference. I found that it seed as everyone likes what they have.....I did hear a lot about the fire and ice kit but I went with the Timbersled kit.

I am with 900 cfi, go with the slp, I had both and sold the timbersled, not enough air, the slp is way more responsive on the throttle.

I had the timbersled kit on mine and found it to be restrictive so I sold it and went back to my gutted stock air box with plans to get the slp air box when money allows.

I have been looking more and more at the slp air box and I think I am going with the slp. I am going to order it tommorow from dennis kirk because it is cheaper through them than it is to buy it from slp. I never had to do this with my old polaris's. I am glad I got a deal on this fusion so I could dump a grand into right away to make it ridable and dependable.

R.P.C. has got good deals on slp stuff right now, and they give a discount to HCS members. They had the best price on the airbox. Check out their website on the sponsor list, and give them a call.

I like my timbersled box kit.
My dealer and I did dyno's on my '06, 900 and saw a nice increase in HP. and torque, aprox. 4.5,HP. They did say that they didn't get as good a result from the '05, more like 2.5,HP. They said the SLP. gains about 5-6 on the '06 and 3-4 on the '05.
I also added a SS silencer and final test were at 159.5 HP. If I went SLP ,I probably would gain another 1.5-2 HP.
Dealer says on '05 he'd go SLP all the way due to the fact that the '05 stock has 4.5 HP. less than the '06. not to mention the throttle response differance between the '06 and '05 machines with the '06 CFI upgraded injector system. 2 jets per cyl on '06 and 1 per cyl on '05, I probably will upgrade to SLP next season just so I have something to change before next season. Other than that , I'm pretty happy with my T.S. kit.

I have the timbersled intake on my fusion and it a little more responsive. It does add to the intake noise too but i like it. There was a thread going around that someone had dynoed their sled with the slp, timbersled and a gutted stock airbox and the the timbersled was somewhat restrictive however i feel that is will injest less snow due to its location of the stock filter on the plenum. The slp is rightin front and if you are in a lot power it gets stuffed up.

I was looking at the TS kit in my BMP catalogue and noticed they had nothing for the Fuse 600,does anyone know if SLP sells something?Don't mean to hijack but I was just looking last night and was surprised it was a topic today. My dragon is stock and I am looking for some relativly easy HP help. What are the disadvantages of these setups if any?

Cooler clutches? More air more HP.? Sorry, can't find a disadvantage.
Both SLP. and TS. have kits for the 600HO. Check, High performance engineering or Dennis kirk. Also sold through parts unlimited.
No , that is not me in the video. I'm nuts, but not that nuts. that is Dan Phillips of the sled necks. Alaska boys loved them IQ's. he's riding a '05 900 Fusion, Dragon addition totaly set up.

I have an 06 900 and added the Timberseld intake. I instantly noticed better throttle response. However, I am thinking about finding a different filter that is a little wider and possibly fabricating a different mount for it to allow more airflow. There has got to be less airflow the way it is now. The intake hole is about 25% bigger that the hole on the kit. I also added the SLP silencer, torque stops and my dealership clutched it. I'm not happy with the way they clutched it and plan on changing that this season. All in all though, awesome

Do you think changing the filter size will allow more air flow? I think you have to change the inside diameter of the filter mount to achieve more air flow.

"Do you think changing the filter size will allow more air flow? I think you have to change the inside diameter of the filter mount to achieve more air flow."
That's what I mean by fabricating a new mount. I won't be able to do that until I find a filter that's the right size and will fit in that same spot under the hood. As it is, that filter fits pretty tight. Then I'll make a mount that fits that filter.

Someone on here had a red rectangle filter that was modified to take in more air. You may have look in some strange places to find the right filter. I'll try to do some searches. I'm sure the timbersled filter holder can be modified with some cutting and aluminum welding.

There were a few guys on here last year that modifed the TS filter bracket and put a bigger filter on. They said they noticed a difference but if it was this easy of a change don't you think that Timbersled would do it too ???
I have a TS - I like it.
